Honest to Goodness Organic Young Jackfruit is ethically sourced, sustainably grown and packaged in a BPA free tin.
Jackfruit is a fibrous fruit is easily flavoured and has a consistency similar to shredded meat, making it a fantastic vegan, soy and wheat free meat alternative!
This bulk size tin is ideal for catering, meal prepping or for feeding a crowd! Once opened, refrigerate in an airtight container and use within 2 days.No GMO. No artificial preservatives. No added sugar. Vegan friendly.
HOW TO USE
Much like tofu, young jackfruit takes on the flavour of whatever you season it with, making it incredibly versatile. Jackfruit also has a texture similar to pulled meat which is fantastic for creating meat-free tacos, burgers, sandwiches, salads + much more!
Jackfruit can be shredded before or after cooking. Some of the jackfruit pieces will have the firm core attached and that won’t shred; feel free to just leave it as is or give it a quick chop with your kitchen knife. As jackfruit is a variety of fruit, it can be eaten raw or cooked.
Rinse well before use.
GROWING & PROCESSING
A relative of the fig, jackfruit is a large tropical fruit which grows in areas of Southeast Asia, Brazil and Africa. Amazingly, one jackfruit tree can grow about 100 to 200 fruits in a year and requires little maintenance.
Our Organic Young Jackfruit, also known as green or unripe, is simply peeled, diced and tinned in a simple brine solution.
